Our next main production will be 'The Pirates of Penzance', directed by Laurence Scott, with Tony Hurst as Musical Director and Julian as our accompanist. This will take place at the RGS in April 2009.

In November, we will give three performances of 'The Phantom of the Operetta', written by Paul Clarke for the University G&S Society in 1979. The story takes place within a typical G&S Society, and features jealousy, back-stabbing, romance, kidnapping, leather, whips, a secret brotherhood and a doomsday bomb - just your average amateur production of 'Mikado'! The music is taken from the works of Gilbert & Sullivan Show, and you can download the script here. This will involve all Society members, and Fraser Charlton will be our director.

We need a strong cast, especially for 'Pirates of Penzance'. Any young person who would like to become a member will need to be at least 16 years of age at the time of the production in April 2009. Turn up to a rehearsal or e-mail: GTMS@blueyonder.co.uk.
